Privacy policy

Short version: you can use NearLark without an account, we don't sell your information, and we collect as little as we can.

Who we are

NearLark (nearlark.com) is run by Wasif Nawaz, based in Pakistan. You can reach us at hello@nearlark.com.

What we collect

• No accounts or forms. NearLark has no sign-up, login or comments, so we don't ask for your name, email or location to use the site. Pages show trails near a town you choose; your browser's location is never requested.
• Visit statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies or local storage and does not track you across sites. It tells us things like which pages are read and roughly which country visits come from.
• Server and security logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address, browser type and the pages requested in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. SeeCloudflare's privacy policy.
• Emails you send us. If you write to us, we keep your message and address only to reply and to fix what you reported.

Advertising

NearLark is free and is paid for by advertising. We plan to show ads from Google AdSense. When ads are shown, this section applies:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
• Visitors in the EU, UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent before personalized ads or their cookies are used.

Links to other sites

Directions open Google Maps, and some links go to OpenStreetMap and land managers. Those sites have their own privacy policies; we don't control what they collect.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent personal information.
• We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
• We don't build profiles of individual visitors.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it. Since we hold almost nothing beyond emails you send us, the simplest route is toemail us and we'll answer within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
